If you don't have a merchant account with a supported payment gateway yet (listed above), you will need to sign up for one to process credit cards, and all gateways charge some sort of monthly and/or transaction fee. iSwipe never charges you a fee however, and you don't need to sign up for one of the accounts we recommend to use iSwipe.
